Your periods may become lighter or heavier. After a few months, your periods may stop. For your next shot, you will go back to the clinic each month 31 days or every 3 months 91 days. Lupron Depot is given to lower the estrogen made by your ovaries. It is used to treat endometriosis and uterine fibroids. It is injected into the muscle a shot and is slowly released over 1 or 3 months. This medicine stops ovulation and monthly periods. You will get the shot once a month no sooner than 31 days or once every three months no sooner than 91 days.

This is a very expensive medicine. Check with your insurance company about coverage. It may need a prior authorization. Estrogen levels temporarily increase after treatment. Increased estrogen levels may temporarily worsen your symptoms. Period Stops.

Estrogen levels decrease after 1 to 2 weeks, and you start to feel relief from endometriosis pain. The obgyn i saw today gave me a pamphlete on lupron telling its not at all like birth control and will shut down my ovaries. And there is nothing else they can do other than that, or get pregnant and they can not do partial hystorectomy because i got ovarian cysts before having endo and that i would keep getting ovarian cysts even if they only removed the uterus.

Take the missed norethindrone dose as soon as you can, but skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next dose. Do not take two doses at one time.
