Should i go to the seychelles

You also have kitchen amenities at your disposal. Complimentary WiFi is provided. All units come with a seating area, a flat-screen TV and a fully equipped kitchen with a dining area. Perfect mid-range accommodation for Mahe. If paradise is what you are after, then head over to Four Seasons Resort Seychelles and book your stay in one of the lush bungalows overlooking the gorgeous Petite Anse.

This has to be the most incredible property in the whole of Seychelles. Simply perfect. The second best thing is to go on an adventure and hike a trail in the wilderness. Depending on what you are after you have two choices: you can stay on the West side of Praslin if you prefer seclusion and quiet, or you can locate yourself on the East if you want more restaurants and bars.

I decided to stay on the Western side because I found a great price for my accommodation. I stayed in Praslin Holiday Homes and loved every single second of it. Of course, there are luxurious hotel options too. We just wanted to stretch our honeymoon for as long as possible. Praslin has fantastic beaches, with Anse Lazio being one of the most famous in the world. The restaurants have relatively good food, but the supermarkets are small and prices are high. I found it quite difficult to get ingredients to cook my own meals, hence I needed to dine out a bit more.

Without a doubt, Anse Lazio was the best beach in Praslin. Did I like it more than Petite Anse? No, I thought it was busier and lacked a few amenities which Petite Anse had.

Anse Lazio is amazing for snorkelling and swimming. The second best beach in Praslin was Anse Georgette, although you need a reservation to visit it. To do this, go to your hotel or apartment concierge and ask them to sort this for you. Everyone will be happy to assist. I loved my stay in Praslin Apartments. The flats were very spacious, in a great location and offered free on-site parking. I especially liked the bedroom and the living room was huge.

I also had a good, fully equipped kitchen to make my own meals. Should you fancy something more luxurious, there are several options as well including the well known Constance Lemuria.

This property is 5 minutes walk from the beach. Free WiFi is provided and free private parking is available on site. This is a great mid-range option in Praslin. Located just 2 minutes away from the beach, Raffles Seychelles offers luxurious villas, all with free wifi, open-air balconies overlooking the garden and the beaches. Raffles Spa features private outdoor treatment rooms overlooking the serene blue ocean and tropical landscape.

For ultimate luxury, visit Constance Lemuria, known to be one of the top hotspots for honeymooners. All the air-conditioned units at the Constance Lemuria are decorated with wooden furniture and some of them have thatched roofs.

They all have en suite bathrooms with bathtubs and a hairdryer. Coco de Mer is the largest fruit, sometimes weighing over 10 kilos. The top things to do in Praslin is to lounge in Anse Lazio and have a lazy afternoon. The stand was reddish I think? If you find it, message me. Travel Bucket List. Know before you go…. La Digue. How to meet giant tortoises and maybe baby sea turtles. Climbing over those huge rocks on La Digue definitely felt other worldly to me. Great post! Great reasons! And, pairing it up with a safari in South Africa would be a true bonus.

Hey Amanda! Thanks for the lovely post about the Seychelles! These photos are definitely helping me sell me on the idea! Girl, I was ready to plan a trip to the Seychelles yeaaaaars ago! One day…. The Seychelles are so different from Mauritius though — you definitely need to plan that trip! Looks beautiful and I love to snorkel in clear water. However, Seychelles are NOT particularly gay friendly— although improved over the last few years.

You were very careful not to mention this in your review as you received freebies from the Tourist Bureau? Also, they support parts of Sharia Law. I do not visit countries that support Sharia Law. They discriminate against gay marriage, gay adoptions, etc. If you feel I left information out, I can assure you it was not on purpose. I can only write about my personal experiences when I travel, and this is based on exactly that.

Amna 3 years ago. Tilly 4 years ago. Amanda 4 years ago. Parts of it definitely looked otherworldly — and the beaches are just so incredible!

And Anse Intendance at the southern end is big, empty and beautiful. Wildlife lovers and birdwatchers will adore the Seychelles. Its green-to-brown skin shows a distinctive dark band extending from its mouth, but your eyesight will need to be good: it is only 11mm long. Thankfully, the giant Aldabra tortoises are easier to spot. Every hotel, restaurant and distillery on the islands seem to keep them as pets, but you can find them living in the wild on North Island, Cousin Island and Curieuse Island and, of course, Aldabra atoll, where they originate from.

The warbler is most easily spotted on Cousin Island, a former coconut plantation that was turned into a nature reserve when the last of the warblers were discovered there. Hardcore twitchers should head to Bird Island, a private reserve teeming with birdlife. The larger islands are blessed with rugged mountains and verdant jungle, all relatively untouched and ready to be explored. There are walks and hikes to suit every level of fitness and ability.

Fusion is not a new concept in Seychellois cuisine.
